Bull tattoos are symbolic of masculinity as far as the Samoans are concerned. Samoa's rich history and cultural diversity has ensured that the art of tattooing, first introduced more than two thousand years ago in Samoa, has burgeoned into a global movement! Tatau, the Samoan word for tattoo, portrays correctness and workmanlike traits. These two traits have led to the concept of tattoos being masculine, and bull tattoos, more so! Apart of its rich cultural magnificence, why should one give attention to the various vagaries of the Samoans? And what do they have to do with the concept of bull tattoos?
Did you know that one of the most famous wrestlers of our times, Dwayne Johnson alias The Rock, is a Samoan who can trace his ancestry back to the Polynesian island of Samoa? The Rock has single-handedly raised awareness of the bull tattoo, with his impressively built body sporting the Rock Brahma Bull Tattoo. Any questions about his masculinity? The bull tattoo is an image of a wild bull head with wild and stabbing red eyes, etched in ink on his right arm.
The Bull, being the symbol of the sun sign Taurus, thus holds a double meaning for The Rock, who is also a Taurus. Also, the Brahma bull is said to be the elite in bulls, weighting in at approximately one ton, and one of the most ferocious bulls ever. Thus, The Rock's Brahma bull tattoo symbolizes his drive to be the best in the world of Wrestling! Whilst the bull tattoo on the upper right arm of The Rock portrays his strength, dominating nature and affinity for danger and violence, his upper left arm "puamana" tattoo shows the other, more reserved side of him; the gentle side that shows his love for his family and background.
One of the biggest factors that makes Dwayne Johnson stand out from the rest of the crowd is The Rock Brahma Bull Tattoo, which shows his diligence, ambition and power to be the best that he can be. This is seen in his acting as well as his extreme devotion to be not only physically powerful, but also psychologically in tune with his roots and family.
So if you're looking to prove your power and your masculinity, go ahead and get The Rock Brahma Tattoo! If you're looking for something that's not quite as big and impressive but conveys the same meaning, explore the different tattoo designs on our site. You'll definitely find one of your choice, and it may just be a bull tattoo!

Bull Tattoos - You Don't Have to Be From Chicago to Love 'Em
0 comments Posted by tattoos at 6:57 PMYes, I have finally decided to do it. I have thought about it for years. I have coveted the tattoos of others all my life and it is my time to get my own tattoo. I don't know why I haven't done it after all this time, but it is probably because I'm a chicken. Absolutely scared of needles.
So, in my quest to fulfill this lifelong destiny of mine, I had to make a few decisions. First of all, I knew that I wanted a tattoo that I could show if I wanted to, but that I could hide if I needed to. The upper arm or ankle seemed like the obvious choice. After doing a lot of research online, it seemed that it was also the choice of most people getting tattoos.
I found some really informative websites on tattoos, including one - Tattoomenow.com - that gave me plenty of bull tattoos to choose from. Of course, they also had guitars and clovers, roses and vines, tribal symbols and Asian characters, but I had always wanted one of the more intricate bull tattoos and I found just what I was looking for.
Once I had decided on one of the bull tattoos, I researched tattoo parlors online and found one close to me that was clean, reliable, and employed quality artists. I read the reviews from people who had walked out of there (apparently in one piece), and felt confident that I would be getting a quality piece of art put on my body without putting my life at risk or getting stuck with an inky mess that I would regret for the rest of my life.
If you are thinking of getting a tattoo, do what I did and get your research done ahead of time. Find a design that you love, take it to a reputable, well-reviewed artist, and good luck!

So after what seems like forever, you've finally decided to get a butterfly tattoo. Now your dilemma lies in the question where to put it? Before spending another lifetime answering your question here are some suggestions for you that can help you a lot in the all too important decision-making. After all, as the saying goes, if you have it, flaunt it.
1. Arm butterfly tattoos
A couple of small butterflies in tribal designs are the best if you want to have the tattoo in your arms. Since the space is limited, the tribal design with only one color can create a beautiful artistry in your arms.
2. Ankle butterfly tattoos
Some ladies want to have a permanent anklet and one of the most popular ankle tattoo designs are butterflies. An ankle butterfly tattoo can never go wrong whether you're casually or formally dressed because the little butterflies circling around your ankle is absolutely feminine. Ankle tattoos are great as well for the ladies who love using different kinds of shoes as the butterfly tattoo can get the attention of others. And when the tattoo is noticed, the shoes will follow.
3. Back butterfly tattoos
Back butterfly tattoos are best for those who want a larger and much more intricate butterfly design. One advantage in back butterfly tattoos is that the image of butterflies is proportioned therefore your spine can be the main outline for the center of the butterfly. Back butterfly tattoos are generally more colorful than the others. Since the image is large, the different colors of the butterfly wings can truly make a dramatic effect.
Of course, you can choose other areas in your body where you'll place your butterfly tattoo. The important thing here is that you'll make the decision on your own since it's your body decoration.

Bears have grown to become very popular in tattoo art recently due to their broad and rich use in symbolism throughout history and culture. Around 500 BC, the bear was used by the Celts across Europe as a symbol to represent war. In the Old Testament, this magnificent creature was used to symbolize evil influence and cruelty. In Christian symbolism, they were viewed as a positive representation of reform. In Ancient Greek and Egypt, it was believed that the Great She-Bear of the Ursa Major Constellation (The Big Dipper) was the incarnation of the great Goddess Diana or Artemis.
Bears have also been used extensively in Native American culture. For some tribes, they were used to symbolize battle, hunting, and healing. For other tribes, this symbol denoted the whirlwind which was used in times of war to confuse ones enemies and for medical and healing purposes. Some tribes viewed them as supernatural creatures and some even as Gods. Their annual hibernation was an expression of the need for silence and self reflection. The quiet of the cave was a symbol of the quiet of the heart.
Another reason why these tattoos have such diverse meanings and designs is the diversity amongst these creatures themselves. Bears such as the Kodiak and Grizzly can be used to symbolize immense strength, power, and danger. Polar bears in tattoo designs are rare and unique. With the current crisis this species is facing, a design incorporating this bear might be used to signify the last of a dying breed, to create awareness, or to symbolize hope. Other members of this family include Black bears and Pandas.
For anyone considering a design with a Koala, just remember that a Koala is not really a bear but actually a member of the marsupials. Finally, there are "teddy bear" tattoos which symbolizes "cute" I think.

If you have finally decided to have a tattoo, the worst is over. The only thing you need to do is to find an appropriate design that suits you and the tattoo artists that will transfer it to your body. The two are equally important since tattoos are by nature permanent, so a poorly researched design will only want you to erase it later on. A good design done by a so-so artist may give you the same poor results. Again, you might find yourself in the future to be saddled with a tattoo that you do not want anymore.
A good place to start in your search for your tattoo design will be those membership sites which offer their large database for a minimal fee. Frequenting their forums will introduce you to serious tattoo enthusiasts who can offer you lots of information on where to get ideas and design for your tattoo. I find it better alternative to free sites found by various search engines. You will notice as I have that the designs found in these sites are similar and often in fact represents the same individual. You might find yourself having a generic tattoo.
In your quest for your tattoo, let me tell you that twenty five percent (25%) of tattoos in existence are of animal designs. Animal tattoos are the most commonly chosen design because some attributes like grace, ferocity, and beauty are often best portrayed by some animals. Animal tattoos could consist of a single animal or whole jungle scene.
One popular animal design is the koi tattoo. Koi are large fresh water fish belonging to the carp variety. These fish are known for bright colors orange, red, white, black and blue. They can get as big up to 3 feet in length. Koi's sizes are dependent on its environment so it gets big as its environment will allow.
Another popular animal tattoo is the cat whether it is from the domesticated type or of the large jungle variety like the lion, panther and the leopard. The grace with which this animal is associated for is mainly the reason why many people opt to chose this as tattoo. Usually only the faces of these animals are drawn but the more adventurous chose to do the whole cat design.
Whatever, the animal chosen to be the subject of the tattoo, what is true is that the animal characteristic is symbolic of the characteristic that the person wants to expressed in his tattoo.

Astrology symbols have become very popular tattoo designs, such as a scorpion or a bull as body art. This is due to astrological symbols making great tattoo designs. There is also a quiet mysticism that surrounds these signs that makes them a popular choice for the younger population.
Besides the zodiac signs celestial bodies like the sun and the moon also make popular tattoo designs. Most of the astrology tattoos are done in bright colours that give them a life of their own. Astrology tattoo designs can be tattooed just about anywhere as body art, such as arm bands, lower-back, ankles, chest or shoulders.
Different astrological systems have different signs which represent different meanings. However, the preferred astrology tattoo designs are based on the Greek or Roman zodiac system. These include the twelve different signs namely Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius.
Each of the astrological signs depicts an animal, character or object associated with it. Here are the traditional symbols associated with each sign of the Zodiac:
Capricorn (December 23 to January 20) is depicted by a Goat.
Aquarius (January 21 to February 19) by the Water Carrier
Pisces (February 20 to March 20) by the Fish
Aries (March 21 to April 20) by a Ram
Taurus (April 21 to May 21) by a Bull
Gemini (May 22 to June 21) by the Wolf
Cancer (June 22 to July 22) by the Crab

Libra (September 24 to October 23) by Pair of Scales
Scorpio (October 24 to November 22) by the Scorpion
Sagittarius (November 23 to December 22) by the Centaur Archer
Other widely practiced arts include those devised by the Native American, incorporating the medicine wheel as an important part of their astrological system, and the Chinese that depicts animal names and traits to people born in a certain year.
All the astrology tattoo designs are characterized by certain qualities that make them unique. For instance, they are especially meaningful if they happen to be your sun sign, tattooing the sun sign that you were born under can be a simple way of reflecting your unique personality, goals and interests.
Today, the astrology tattoo designs can be seen on a wide selection of people from all nationalities and age. Earlier, the tattoos were limited to sailors and maybe artists. Now days, all tattoos are flaunted with great pride.
